It’s never too early to start considering what you’d like to do in life. In fact, about one-third of first-time college students change their major at least once, so it’s good to start thinking about a major and career before you get to college. Check out some tips to help you get started:
1. Consider your free time. How you spend your free time can lend insight into your passions. What’s cool is that your extracurricular interests can become career paths and fields of study. Love making YouTube videos? Consider a career in media studies. Enjoy exploring the outdoors? Maybe environmental studies is the path for you. Find out how you can turn your passions into a profession.
2. Learn how to customize your education. Your choice of major and college will influence your job potential. We know that all students have their own unique qualities, which is why we help them tailor their education and network experiences in college to best set them up for a fulfilling career. ÌýÌý
3. Talk with your school counselor. Consulting an expert may be the most helpful part of the journey. School counselors can help you learn about classes, jobs and extracurriculars that will give you a head start in your area of interest.
