Forever Buffs D.C. Intramural Sports
Ever wanted to represent CU on the gridiron, diamond or pitch? If so, read on for more information on our co-ed intramural teams.

Each year, the Capital Alumni Network (CAN) sponsors competitive co-ed flag football, softball and soccer leagues comprised of around 60 university alumni teams. 2023 will be the D.C. Buffs’ 22nd year in the league. Our primary purpose for participating is to have fun, but we also like to win, and we do quite a bit of it (2006 league champions, two final fours, and four elite eights).

The Flag Football season runs from September through November with a tournament in December. Most games are played on Saturday morning or early afternoon. There are ten regular season games total.

The Softball season runs from April through July with a tournament in August.  Weekly games are on Thursday or Friday evenings and Saturday mornings at the National Mall.  The tournament is held over two weekends in Greenbelt, Maryland and includes all-you-can-drink beer and all-you-can-eat food.  You must play at least five regular season games to play in the tournament.

The Soccer season runs from April through June with playoffs in late June.  Our team plays in the 7×7 division and games occur on Sundays in Alexandria on a turf field.

The leagues are very social and frequently have post-game happy hours. Joining a team is a wonderful opportunity to network and to meet alumni from other schools, as well as CU. If you are interested in playing and sports or would like more information on the teams, please send an email to dcforeverbuffs@colorado.edu. We hope to CU on the field!
