Dynamic stability of the 3-D axi-symmetric Navier-Stokes equations with swirl

I will present the joint work with Tom Hou on 鈥淒ynamic stability of the 3D axi-symmetric Navier-Stokes equations with swirl鈥 and some related equations. I will briefly describe the problem on the analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations and will then introduce the 1D approximation of the axi-symmetric Navier-Stokes equations and its global well-posedness. The relations between the 1D model and the original equations will also be discussed.
