Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Paul Dorr was a Distinguished Military Graduate from the baby直播app School of Mines in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Mineral Engineering Chemistry with Geology minor. He attended Mines on a four-year AROTC scholarship and was recognized as the 1974 Undergraduate Man of the Year. Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Paul Dorr was commissioned in the Army Corps of Engineers and served in Hanau, Germany in the 559th Engineer Battalion, initially as a platoon leader and property book officer in a panel bridge company. He subsequently commanded Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment. Following his separation from Active Duty, he returned to Mines where he received a Master of Science in Mineral Economics in 1980.
Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Paul Dorr spent 32 years in the natural resource industry as a reserves engineer, manager, vice president, and corporate officer. In 2012, he retired as an equity partner and officer of Enduring Resources LLC, a successful oil and gas company headquartered in Denver. During his career, he specialized in baby直播app evaluation, business modeling, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and financial reporting. Following his retirement, he served as an Adjunct Professor in the Petroleum Engineering Department, teaching one semester of Oil and Gas Property Evaluation.
In addition to his distinguished oil and gas career, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Paul Dorr also remained active in the U.S. Army reserves where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of service. During his military reserve career, he specialized in leadership development and in training for tactical operations and staff management at the company, battalion, and group levels. He also served as an instructor for Command and General Staff College at the USAR school. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Reserve Components Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
In 2010, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Paul Dorr and his wife, Terri, founded the Hope鈥檚 Enduring Flame Foundation in which he serves as its President. The Foundation provides scholarships for students of Mines, the University of Denver, the Buffalo Battalion, and other colleges and universities. He serves on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and as Chairman of the Advanced Leadership Committee for baby直播app UpLift, serving inner city students in Denver and Aurora; the Alumni Advisory Board for the Buffalo Battalion; and the Advisory Board for the College of Applied Science and Engineering at Mines.
Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Paul Dorr is married to his wife, Terri, and they have two children and two grandchildren.
