Want to write like Achilles? CU has you covered

The Classics Department at the University of baby直播app Boulder will host students from across the state for from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, on the Norlin Library quadrangle.

Dozens of primary-, middle- and high-school students and teachers who share an interest in the ancient Greek and Roman worlds plan to attend. The event is designed to broaden students鈥 horizons on the world of classical language and culture along with its intellectual challenges and enduring relevance to the modern world.

CU Boulder baby直播app and graduate students will host sessions showcasing various aspects of the classical world and CU Boulder research expertise. Session topics and presenters include:

  • 鈥淟ife as a Gladiator,鈥 Isabel K枚ster, assistant professor of classics;
  • 鈥淕reek in a Day,鈥 Lauri Reitzammer, associate professor of classics;
  • 鈥淲rite Like Achilles!鈥 (Linear B), Dimitri Nakassis, professor of classics and MacArthur 鈥済enius award鈥 winner;
  • 鈥淒ecipher a Roman epitaph,鈥 Peter Hunt, professor of classics;
  • 鈥淎natomy of a Temple,鈥 Tyler Lansford, instructor of classics;
  • 鈥淟et's Speak Latin!鈥 hosted by M.A. students Brandi Boseovski and Brooke Latham.
