The 9th Annual Brakhage Center Symposium

All events will be held in the

Through screenings and discussions the 9th Brakhage symposium explored art practices, and assumptions about cinema art, the historical avant-garde and the media arts. We have seen, for many decades, the parallel development of experimental filmmaking art alongside electronic moving image making. This year鈥檚 symposium will play host to perspectives on the relation and poetics of these practices.

This years programmers are: Glenn Phillips, Principal Project Specialist and Consulting Curator Department of Architecture and Contemporary Art at the Getty Research Institute, Mark Toscano, Archivist and Preservationist at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and Don Yannacito, University of baby直播app Boulder  Guest Filmmaker Programmer. Artists Jennifer Reeder and Jennifer West will be joined by Sally Dixon (former Director of Film In the Cities program ), Suranjan Ganguly (University of baby直播app, Boulder), John Powers (University of Wisconsin, Madison) and Tom Gunning (University of Chicago).
