Senior Asian Studies Majors Share their Research
On Friday, December 11, two Asian Studies majors who completed their Senior Thesis/Project work this semester presented their research to a group of babyֱapp and students.
Alexander Appell did a video project with Professor Faye Kleeman on ōō identity the place of ōō in kawai culture, as well as popular understandings of ōō. His video included images, video clips, and interviews with Japanese studying at CU this semester.
John Hazuka completed his thesis, "American Involvement in the Second Sino-Japanese War" with Professor Timothy Weston. He examined the influence of Chiang Kai-shek and his wife, Soong Mei-ling, on initiating American involvement in the war in China, even though China was not America's first priority, and he also detailed the process through which the American relationship with the Nationalist Party deteriorated.
Both projects were very intersting and generated a lively discussion. Congratulations to these and all the Fall 2015 graduates!
