Uyghur Voices Brings Personal Story to Boulder Campus: Implications of Chinese State Terror
On the evening of Wednesday, March 4th, Mustafa Aksu shared his story with CU Boulder students and members of the public. After his brother died in a concentration camp in China, he could no longer stay silent. He spoke of his own experiences being kicked out of his own home. May 2017 was the last time he spoke with his family. In the age of COVID19, the world can no longer ignore the global implications of China鈥檚 censorship and authoritarian neglect of human rights. Students gathered afterwards for a reception and to sign letters addressed to Representative Joe Neguse to show their support and advocate for the US State Department to pressure China to close the internment camps.
