Founded in 1988, the Center for British & Irish Studies at the University of babyÖ±²¥app Boulder promotes research and teaching in all aspects of British and Irish history, geography, society, and culture across the humanities and the arts, the social sciences, and the professional schools.

The Center’s purview includes all the constituent parts of the British Isles from prehistoric times to the present, their relationships with each other and other parts of the world, and the British Empire and its legacy.Ìı

The Center administers an undergraduate Certificate in British & Irish Studies. It offers competitive fellowships to graduate students who present conference papers or pursue research in British and Irish studies anywhere in the world. It hosts academic events, such as talks, conferences, and concerts and partners with babyÖ±²¥app, students, and staff who organize academic events that focus onÌıBritish and Irish studies.

Our Collection

The University of babyÖ±²¥app Libraries hold one of the finestÌıcollections of British and Irish Studies materialsÌıin the country, including some materials that are available nowhere else in North America.

Our Study Room

The beautifulÌıBritish and Irish Studies Room at Norlin Library hosts University-sponsored academic programs and events related to the study of British and Irish culture, history, and society.Ìı
