John Roberts is an instructor in CMCI's CommRAP program, where he teaches courses in media studies. His research explores the relationship between aesthetics and the production of knowledge in contemporary media and is grounded in aesthetic theory, critical theoryÌıand close formal analysis of media objects. Currently, he is working on a book manuscript that analyzes the 'conspiracy wall'—a popular visual trope in which investigation is depicted by collages of images and text connected by string. He has published on labor, digitality, and narrative construction in found-footage horror inÌı, game-playing and cinematic narration in theÌı, and on figurality and conspiracy theory inÌı, a forthcoming Routledge collection on literary form and conspiracy theory.
