The Changing Face of Campus

During the past few years, CU-Boulder has built and renovated a number of buildings to enhance the overall university experience for students. Check out some of the exciting work during Back to Boulder Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 23-26!

Fiske planetarium

Fiske Planetarium

With the fall 2013 renovation, visitors are immersed completely in space as they gaze at the 20 million stars displayed by the planetarium's new "star ball."

JILA X wing

X-Wing

The JILA wing, which opened spring 2012, got its name from the starfighters in the original Star Wars triology. The wing contains labs equipped to control vibrations, room temperature, electromagnetic noise and dust.

Norlin Commons

Students can sip a latte from the Laughing Goat Coffeehouse in the midst of studying in the 4,300 square-foot renovated space that opened in fall 2009.

Kittredge central

Kittredge Complex

Kittredge West and Central were unveiled as the campus' newest dorms for fall 2013 semester. The beautiful and spacious buildings include areas to combine learning and housing.

C4C persian station

Center for Community

Huge windows give way to some of the best views of the Flatirons on campus. The dining hall, opened in fall 2010, seats more than 5,000 people and seves food from all over the world.

Visual Arts Complex

Visual Arts Complex

Housing the CU Art Museum exhibit galleries, classrooms, lockers and studios, the VAC, opened in fall 2010, brings art to life in revolutionary ways.

Rec center

CU Rec Center

Known as "The Rec," CU's recreation center is unrecognizable since it opened in January and includes a new ice rink, rock climbing wall and yoga rooms. We can't wait for the Buffalo-shaped outdoor pool to be completed by summer.
