After the $44 billion merger of the French and Swiss cement-supplying giants Lafarge and Holcim, Eric Olsen (Fin) was named CEO. Eric had been with Lafarge since 1999, holding several positions in the company’s North American operations. Originally from Chicago, Eric became a joint U.S-French citizen last year after more than a decade in France.

The Boulder International Film Festival has become a hot spot for movie stars and film enthusiasts around the country. The festival was started 10 years ago by sisters and filmmakers Kathy Beeck (Engl’86) and Robin Beeck(Comm’88). The pair shared a love for movies and believed that Boulder was the ideal place for a festival with a backdrop of the Flatirons. Their initial goal was to bring independent films to Boulder. In the festival’s first year, 5,000 people came. Now more than 20,000 people attend each year.

She is a partner and senior trial lawyer and serves as lead counsel in complex patent copyright, trademark and trade secrets cases. Natalie secured a $12 million jury verdict in a patent infringement and trade dress case for a division of L’Oreal and scored a victory for Life is good Inc. in a copyright dispute. She is an adjunct professor of patent litigation at CU’s law school and lives in Louisville, Colo.

Michael received this award due to his longstanding efforts to preserve and protect Grand County’s cold-water fisheries, especially the Fraser River and Ranch Creek near Winter Park.
