2019-2020 DES Graduate Awards Announced
We are pleased to announce the recipients of the Ruth Glenn Award, our DES Graduate Research Fellowships, and the Best Graduate Student Paper Award.
- LeAnna Luney received the Ruth Glenn Award to support her dissertation research exploring the intersections of power and how they impact forgotten people's realities, in tandem with Ruth M. Glenn鈥檚 mission to bring attention to domestic violence and how networks of power exacerbate such violence at various intersections.
- Shawn O鈥橬eal received a Graduate Research Fellowship Award to support his dissertation project, Audio Intersectionality: Disrupting Hegemonic Structures Against Marginalized Communities.
- LeAnna Luney received a Graduate Research Fellowship Award to support her dissertation study, How African American College Students Cope at the University of baby直播app Boulder.
- Natasha Myhal received a Graduate Research Fellowship Award to support her dissertation research, Returning to Our Stories: Healing from the Land Within Ottawa Natural Resource Management.
- LeAnna Luney received the Best Graduate Student Paper Award for her work: 鈥淭he Decoloniality in Black Psychology: Discovering Implications of Decolonial Options in Black or African American Psychology Discourse.鈥
- Jenean McGee received Honorable Mention for the Best Graduate Student Paper for her paper, 鈥淭he Unscripted Script of Black YouTube (BYT): African American Women Family Vloggers Performance of Whiteness Through Property.鈥
- Lau Malaver also received Honorable Mention for the Best Graduate Student Paper for their paper, 鈥淧erforming a Commons of Pain Through Recovecos: Excess, Silence, Endurance, and Coloniality.鈥
