  • The Environmental Planning Minor teaches students what it takes to facilitate the decision-making to carry out urban planning, urban design, land development and natural resource conservation with consideration of environmental, social, political and babyֱapp factors.

  • The Bachelor of Arts in Leadership & Community Engagement prepares ethical, skilled leaders committed to addressing complex public challenges in our nation and across the world.   • The Business Minor introduces students to the fundamentals of business through classes in marketing, management, finance and accounting. In addition to these topics, students choose one of the five “track” options in which they’d like to further explore. Options include Innovation, Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Global Business or Real Estate.

  • Sociology is the scientific study of human social behavior. It considers how society influences individuals, and how individuals influence society. Sociologists describe and explain the actions of persons, groups, organizations, classes and entire societies. They also design and evaluate social programs and public policy. The study of sociology includes social theory, research methods, social stratification, race relations, social change, criminology, demography, sex roles, religion, social psychology and human ecology.

  • The Certificate in Peace, Conflict and Security Studies (PACS) is designed to help students explore why conflict and violence occur, and to develop practical, nonviolent skills to analyze, intervene and resolve conflicts in their personal life, in their communities and between countries.

Students in the program examine the intersection of science, policy and human values, as applied to environmental issues, across disciplines and acquire the skills and knowledge needed to help solve global, national, regional and local environmental challenges.

  • The certificate in writing allows students to gain an understanding of and demonstrate expertise in writing studies, broadly defined.   • The psychology major provides a fundamental understanding of the principles of human cognition, emotion, behavior, social interactions and mind-brain relationships. Students will learn why human beings and other living things behave as they do.

  • Students in the information science minor learn to collect, analyze and interpret many different information sources to understand our world. They study how we interact with all things digital, including software, devices and algorithms, and are able to create social and technological solutions that are truly engaging for those who use them, apply those solutions to real problems, and evaluate their effectiveness.
