We have a concentration of activities in the Denver, babyÖ±²¥app area.

We include women, men, students, professionals, and retirees. Membership is open to anyone who supports AWG’s mission. We encourage you to join today!

What Do We Do?
We focus on Leadership, Outreach, and Community. We strive to achieve leadership through career development and an annual awards banquet recognizing outstanding student achievements in the geosciences. We work with our local communities to encourage Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) involvement among girls through science fairs and working alongside Girl Scouts of America. We strive to unify and promote women in the geosciences through networking and connecting with other scientists with the same goal.
The members in this organization provide a diverse set of interests and expertise in geoscience. This fosters unique opportunities for networking and mentoring. Although we may have a broad spectrum of careers paths and geoscience disciplines, we all share a love for earth science and a passion to recognize women in the geosciences.

The Association for Women Geoscientists is a foundation aimed to attain equality of opportunity for women in geosciences and train new leaders by funding high impact programs for women in geosciences.

LEADERSHIP
Leadership and career development are an important aspect of enhancing opportunities for all geoscientists and continually building our careers in geoscience. A unique aspect to the Laramide Chapter is the Outstanding Student Awards held every spring to recognize remarkable female students nominated by their geoscience departments as women who stand out above the crowd. Other leadership events focus on career development such as public speaking and standing out as a female in science, and resume assistance with professionals in the geoscience community.

OUTREACH
An important part of being a geoscientist is giving back to the community. Outreach is a large aspect of the Laramide Chapter. We are very involved in STEM outreach with K-12. Volunteers are always needed for our events that range from judging science fairs to working with Girl Scouts on earth science badges to college career development in geosciences for high schoolers.

COMMUNITY
AWG and the Laramide Chapter would not exist if it were not for the active involvement of our outstanding members. We foster a sense of community to help women connect with each other to exchange professional and academic ideas. Happy hours, day hikes, and networking events are hosted by the chapter several times a year to help the members of this chapter to meet new faces!

Off

Traditional

0

On

White
Mon, 25 Apr 2022 18:48:14 +0000 Anonymous 3380 at /geography Sáde Cromratie Clemons Awarded Scholarship /geography/2022/04/05/sade-cromratie-clemons-awarded-scholarship Sáde Cromratie Clemons Awarded Scholarship Anonymous (not verified) Tue, 04/05/2022 - 18:48

Categories:

 Grad-Awards Honors & Awards News

Tags:

Sade Cromratie Clemons

The Indian Peaks Wilderness Association (IPWA) has awarded Sáde Cromratie Clemons a $2000 scholarship.
