We had a nice trip at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) 2017 Fall Meeting, held this year in New Orleans.  It is the largest earth and space science conference, and a highlight of our year.  Let’s look at the sessions, posters, and presentations from our group:

Monday:

I will be helping to convene a session called “Water and Society: Achieving Water Security Under Climate Change, from Cloud Computing and Extreme Event Modeling to Decision Support and Policy”,  in poster hall D-F and an  in room 280-282 which features an invited talk by  and a talk from former group member Dr. Amy Piscopo!

Tuesday:

: “Bioremediation of Uranium-Contaminated Groundwater using Engineered Injection and Extraction” J Greene, R Neupauer, Ming Ye, J Kasprzyk, D Mays. Room 288-290, 2:55-3:10. Explorations of new techniques for remediating contaminated groundwater.

Wednesday:

: “Using multiobjective tradeoff sets and Multivariate Regression Trees to identify critical and robust decisions for long term water utility planning” R Smith, J Kasprzyk, R Balaji. Room 293-294, 11:20-11:35. Our new method, using Multivariate Regression Trees to reveal fundamental insights from multiobjective tradeoff sets.

: “Using Multi-Objective Optimization to Explore Robust Policies in the babyֱapp River Basin” E Alexander, J Kasprzyk, E Zagona, J Prairie, C Jerla, A Butler. Poster Hall D-F, afternoon. Preliminary proof of concept research on using multiobjective optimization to discover robust operating policies for the babyֱapp River Basin.

Thursday:

: “Collaborative Workshops for Assessment and Creation of Multi-Objective Decision Support for Multiple Sectors” J Kasprzyk, R Smith, W Raseman, M DeRosseau, L Dilling, K Ozekin, R Summers, R Balaji, B Livneh, F Rosario-Ortiz, L Sprain, W Srubar III. Poster Hall D-F, morning.  A poster where we summarize the workshop-based methodology we have incorporated in three diverse research projects.
