Previous research in the group has focused on modifying heterogeneous catalysts with self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) having alkyl tail groups. My research will investigate the role of functionalized SAMs on catalyst behavior, with the goal being to develop multi-functional catalysts. Current work is focused on the incorporation of Br酶nsted acid sites near noble metal surfaces for improving selective deoxygenation reactions.
