Humza received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2017. Before coming to Boulder, he worked in the lab of Dr. Kai Zhang as an undergraduate researcher. For his undergraduate honors thesis, he applied optogenetic approaches to study how neuronal signaling pathways are disrupted in disease. He joined the Spencer lab in May 2018 and听graduated with his听PhD from the Spencer Lab in May 2023. He听now works as a Scientist I at Bioloomics听in Boulder, CO.
