Angela and Kathryn mentored two high school students聽over the summer from Lafayette, Alex and聽Kay, through CU Science Discovery聽(see photo at right)鈥攁 rewarding experience that immersed youth from throughout baby直播app in their own research projects. They taught them how to carry out bird surveys, keep a field notebook, read a scientific paper, and give a poster presentation. They聽also spent a lot of time hiking around the flatirons with Alex and聽Kay, identifying potential future field sites.聽It was cool to see their perceptions of birds change throughout the experience and to see them engaging in new ways with their environments.聽
