This program prepares students to be the next generation of engineers working in a global context. Coursework and extracurricular activities build a community of engineers who are interested in how we can work together toward global poverty reduction while also improving students’ global awareness and fluency in language and culture.

    • The Global Engineering RAP requires an application that is due annually in March. Those selected into the program can choose "Global Engineering RAP" as a preference in their housing application. If a student was not selected into the program, then they should not select this RAP in their application.

    Program Details

    • Managing Director in residence is also Managing Director of the Mortenson Center in Global Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
    • Required RAP course introduces students to the historical and geopolitical context of global health, poverty, technological interventions and the role of global engineers.
    • Students in residence will be supported in practicing their language skills through language group dinners and scholarships for enrollment in the 10-week non-credit language classes offered by CU Boulder’s Anderson Language and Technology Center.
