Community Goals
The following are the general goals of the Music Buffs LLC:
- Explore music in the arts both on and off-campus and how they relate to the CU Boulder community and the community at large
- Expose students to the value of participating in music events in the arts both on campus and off campus
- Learn to critique music and performance based events in a constructive manner
- Develop a supportive arts community that addresses the needs of the entire person
Student Experience and Events
Students are encouraged to actively participate in LLC events based on interest and learning experiences. Experiences include:
- Weekly happy hours with bagels, healthy snacks, and music
- Workshops, presentations, and concerts on world music
- Wellness events with professionals from CUs Musician鈥檚 Wellness Center
- A wide variety of opportunities to think critically about music
Open Mic Nights:
Music Buffs LLC hosts a monthly open mic night where students interested in all types of music can share what they are working on. We provide a guitar, piano and of course microphones.
Recording Arts Workshops:
At least once per semester, the Music Buffs LLC hosts a recording arts workshop where students get hands on experience working with recording equipment and professional software.
Concert Outings:
Over the course of the academic year, Music Buffs LLC provides students with the opportunity to attend numerous concerts both on and off campus. In the past, we have facilitated outings to local venues like Roots Music Project in Boulder, Fiske Planetarium Liquid Sky and laser shows, and concerts put on by the College of Music.
