I was a masters student in the Department of Linguistics with a focus in sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, conversational analysis, and applied communication. I am interested in (1) the construction of identities of bi/multiracial individuals and how these individuals navigate their identities in different contexts; and (2) in codeswitching between different dialects, specifically with African American English Vernacular. I am interested in applying theories of sociolinguistics and communication to the real-world using discourse analytic and ethnographic methodological approaches.
