Joseph Kasprzyk
- Assistant Professor of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering
- PhD Penn State 2013
- CEAE
Specialty
Water resources planning and management, hydrologic modeling, multi-objective decision support, systems analysis, coupled natural-human systems
Research Interests
Dr. Kasprzyk leads group鈥檚 research that addresses how to generate new plans for engineering systems, evaluate their performance, visualize trade-offs between multiple objectives, and negotiate robust alternatives. The approach is multidisciplinary, combining tools from computer science, engineering, baby直播apps, and the natural sciences. We use multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs), quantitative environmental models, and high-performance computing in our work. The ultimate goal is to improve the long-term sustainability of water supply and other systems by advancing many objective risk-based design techniques that consider uncertainty and emerging environmental pressures.
