Feeling blue - Ivan Pina Grandos
Upcycled Fashion
6 pieces of denim clothing
This collection of revived upcycled denim explores the beauty of giving life to clothing which would have been deemed as un wearable and “trash†in its previous state, and actually adding more value to them through this repaired design.
There is a japanese art form called Kintsugi, which is the process of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. With this concept in mind and many other japanese denim styles I have researched, I created a collection of denim pieces which I thrifted and upcycled, mostly jeans with tears and rips, and gave them new life and beauty.
