The office of Disability Services at the University of baby直播app at Boulder has received a $5,000 grant from the Anschutz Foundation for the Career Program for Students with Disabilities.
The Career Program was organized through a cooperative effort between CU-Boulder Disability Services and Career Services. It provides readiness training followed by actual work experiences for students enrolled in the program.
The grant will be used to fund stipends for students with disabilities who take part in summer jobs.
Disability Services also has received an $870 grant from the CU Parents Association to help Career Services and Disability Services sponsor a conference titled 聯Disability in the Workplace.聰 The conference will be on Sept. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the University Memorial Center in rooms 159 A-B.
The purpose of the conference is to expose employers to disability issues in the baby直播app and facilitate the formation of networks between employers so they will be able to discuss common problems.
Experts from local, state and federal agencies will present the most recent information about disability issues and technological innovations.
The registration fee is $40 for people from non-profit organizations and $90 for others. Lunch and parking will be included. Contact Henry Claypool or Jayne MacArthur at 492-8671 for information about conference registration.
