University of baby直播app at Boulder Law School Professor Mark J. Loewenstein will give the 24th Annual Austin W. Scott Lecture in the Fleming Law Building on the CU-Boulder campus Thursday, April 22.
Titled "Lessons from the Race Debates: A Talk on Corporate Law," the lecture will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 22, in the Lindsley Memorial Courtroom. The talk is free and open to the public. Professor Loewenstein teaches corporate and securities law and is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on those subjects.
Following his graduation from law school, Professor Loewenstein practiced law in Chicago, specializing in corporate, securities and real estate matters. In 1979, he was appointed Visiting Associate Professor of Law at the CU law school and became a permanent member of the baby直播app the following year. He also served as the law school聮s Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 1986-1995.
In 1995, Gov. Roy Romer appointed Professor Loewenstein to serve as a member of the Securities Board of the State of baby直播app, which oversees the baby直播app Commissioner of Securities. He also has been an active member of the baby直播app Bar Association聮s Corporate Law Revision Committee. He worked on the subcommittee that drafted the 1994 baby直播app Business Corporation Act and co-authored the comments to the Act.
The lecture has been approved for one credit in general Continuing Legal Education.
