The Milky Way and some of the millions of other galaxies that make up the universe will be explored during a live astronomy show at the University of baby直播app at Boulder聮s Fiske Planetarium on Friday, Dec. 1, and Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m.
CU-Boulder Assistant Professor Erica Ellingson will take planetarium visitors on a multimedia trip beginning in the Milky Way and continuing through other galaxies to the outer reaches of the observable universe during her show.
"Galaxies at the Edge of the Universe" also will explore the structure of the universe and explain how ongoing research using the world聮s most powerful telescopes helps explain the ever-changing view of the cosmos.
Ellingson is currently studying galaxy clusters and galaxy evolution using optical and radio observatories around the world, as well as X-ray space observatories and the Hubble Space Telescope.
Tickets go on sale at 7 p.m. the night of the show and are $4 for adults and $3 for children and seniors.
Fiske Planetarium is located at Regent Drive and Kittredge Loop Drive on the CU-Boulder campus.
