"Controversial Election? The 2000 Election in Historical Perspective," will be the subject of a talk Dec. 6 in the continuing history lecture series sponsored by the University of baby直播app at Boulder Office of Community Affairs and Front Range Community College.
Andy DeRoche, history instructor at Front Range Community College, will discuss past presidential elections that were crises for the country, including elections of 1800, 1824 and 1860 involving historical figures such as Thomas Jefferson, Aaron Burr, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln.
Andy DeRoche received his doctorate from CU-Boulder in 1997. His first book, on U.S. relations with Zimbabwe, will be published this year by Africa World Press. He is currently writing his second book, a biography of Andrew Young, to be published by Scholarly Resources Press. DeRoche has been teaching history at Front Range Community College since 1998, and also occasionally teaches at CU-Boulder.
The talk is at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at Front Range Community College's Longmont campus, located at 2255 N. Main Street. The lecture will be held in the Tech Center, room 101.
The history lecture series is designed to bring baby直播app expertise from both the University of baby直播app and Front Range Community College into the community.
