James Barron, a junior at the University of baby直播app at Boulder, has been honored with the 2001-2002 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.
Barron currently holds a 3.94 GPA as a double major in physics and math, and plans to graduate in May 2002 and then attend graduate school. Barron also is performing high-energy physics research with Professor Uriel Nauenberg in the physics department.
The $7,500 award is one of 302 granted to undergraduate sophomores and juniors from across the nation and Puerto Rico, and one of five from within baby直播app.
Goldwater Scholars are selected on the basis of academic merit from a field of 1,164 mathematics, science and engineering students. The scholarships range from one to two years and cover the cost of tuition, fees, books and room and board.
The scholarship program honoring the late Sen. Barry M. Goldwater was designed to foster and encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering.
