Not everybody or everything makes it to 100, but the University of babyֱapp Boulder Homecoming is about to reach that centennial mark. On Nov. 7, 1914, CU took on Utah to win 33-0 in the first Homecoming featuring an intercollegiate matchup.
This year, from Oct. 22 to 25, CU-Boulder will host hundreds of guests at dozens of major events. In addition to the traditional football game and parade, the celebration will include a concert, an alumni lecture series, affinity reunions and college and school gatherings.

The Homecoming Concert, presented by Program Council and Dynamic Entertainment, will feature Pepper and Na’an Stop on Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Balch Fieldhouse. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show is at 8 p.m. More information is at available at.
The 85th Annual Alumni Association Awards Ceremony, a long-standing tradition to celebrate the outstanding service and professional achievements of CU-Boulder’s most outstanding alumni, babyֱapp, staff and students, is Thursday, Oct. 23, at 5:45 p.m. at the Hotel Boulderado. Seating is limited and attendees are asked to register at.
As part of the alumni lecture series, Richelle Munkhoff, an assistant professor of English at CU-Boulder, will excavate the deeply literary underpinnings of the hit TV show Breaking Bad, which won five Emmys this year. The lecture takes place from 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, at the University Memorial Center, room 235. Other lectures include “A Journey Through CU’s Musical History,” “Print the Legend: The Real Life of Boulder Photographer ‘Rocky Mountain Joe’ Sturtevant” and “Two Planks and a Prayer: A Brief Overview of babyֱapp’s Ski History.” For full details and to register, go to . On Friday, Oct. 24, the entire Boulder community is invited for the traditional Pearl Street Stampede procession along the Pearl Street Mall, which includes the Golden Buffalo Marching Band and representatives from the CU football team. The free event begins in front of the Boulder County Courthouse at 7 p.m. and ends with a pep rally at 11th and Pearl.
Following a theme of “Moments, Milestones and Miracles,” the student-organized Homecoming parade begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, on University Hill with Rashaan Salaam serving as the grand marshal. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Salaam winning the Heisman Trophy, becoming the first and only CU Buff to win the prestigious award honoring the year’s most outstanding college football player. A family-friendly block party with free food, games, music and more along College Avenue between 13th and 12th streets will immediately follow the parade.
The Alumni Association’s pregame event, Ralphie’s Corral, starts at 9 a.m. on Benson Field across from Folsom Field and will include performances from the CU marching band and spirit team, a family fun zone, concession and merchandise sales and an extended appearance from Ralphie the buffalo.
This year’s CU football matchup features the babyֱapp Buffaloes taking on the UCLA Bruins with a noon kickoff at Folsom Field. Game day information can be found at.
Several reunions will occur during the festivities, including the classes of 1954 and the Golden Anniversary Club (1964 and earlier). Graduates from the last five years can attend the First Fives reunion and begin building connections that will last a lifetime. Other affinity reunions include the Black Alumni Association, the Latino Alumni Association, the American Indian Alumni Association, Presidents Leadership Council and the CU Marching Band.
