special event fund is designed to promote Asia-related lectures and research to our community. The applicationÌıdeadline for fall 2017 events is Friday, March 3.
CAS offers two types of funding for Asia-related speakers, seminars, conferences and special events:
- The CAS Seminar Series supports occasional lectures related to Asia that may or may not be directly relevant to the CAS annual theme.
- The CAS Special Event Fund is designed to provide support for larger events involving multiple speakers that may also have relevance to the . The CAS special events fund can support up to three events per academic year.
ApplicationsÌımay be submitted by babyÖ±²¥app members at CU or babyÖ±²¥app members at other institutions in conjunction with CU babyÖ±²¥app members. Priority is given to proposals containing one or more following elements:
- Multiple speakers,
- Speakers engaged in multiple academic activities,Ìısuch as class visits and visits to other universities in the area,
- Academic product or outcome following the visit,
- Connection to a babyÖ±²¥app member’s ongoing larger projectÌıand
- Is in sync with the CAS annual theme.
CAS handles most planning and logistical responsibilities andÌıpays up to $3,000 total, but the applicant is responsible for additional fundraising and hosting the visiting speaker(s). Cost-sharing with other departments or units is highly encouraged but not required. Please see application form for details on applicant and CAS responsibilities.
