McNair Students

After a federal award of $1.1 million was granted to CU Boulder last fall, the campus is seeking nominations from babyÖ±²¥app and researchers tapping outstanding undergraduate students to become McNair Scholars.Ìý

McNair Scholars are from underserved backgrounds and demonstrate strong academic potential for graduate school. They are first-generation and low-income students, or students historically underrepresented in graduate education, who are interested in earning a doctoral degree in their field.

McNair Scholars receive a research stipend, paid travel opportunities, babyÖ±²¥app mentorship, and professional development workshops. CU Boulder currently is looking to fill 25 scholar seats.Ìý

Faculty are encouraged to recommend scholars via the . Undergraduate students who self-identify as potential candidates may complete a preliminary eligibility applicationÌýon the guidelines page.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, the post-baccalaureate achievement program is named after the late Ronald E. McNair. He was a mission specialist on the ill-fated Challenger space shuttle. "Embrace his legacy. Create your own."
