Commencement procession

Commencement marks the culmination of a student’s academic career to date. This celebration is a chance for the CU Boulder community to gather in support of its students and their achievements. We are asking for your help in this campus tradition.

As a commencement marshal, you can give back to graduating students one more time and enjoy the tradition in a fulfilling way, helping ensure guests have a positive experience and leave campus with treasured memories.

The campus is calling on employees to volunteer in a variety of roles during commencement on Thursday, May 10, and in departmental ceremonies that week. Invite your fellow babyÖ±²¥app and staff to join as well.

Lisa Bechard, who has been a commencement marshall for over a decade, says:

It's a great opportunity to serve in the CU community. It's a celebration of the students, families and community at CU, a culmination of hard work, and it's thrilling to see that pay off for our graduates, knowing that we are a part of something bigger than just our everyday job.â€

One growing need is for the campus to support guests with transportation services. Ever wanted to drive a golf cart around campus? Now’s your chance!

Using Buff Buses and a fleet of golf carts to help transport guests, more volunteers are needed for the new golf cart marshal role. Various shifts are available; drivers are required to complete the online defensive driving course. If you’re interested in assisting in this role, please fill out this form.

To volunteer for other roles, fill out the marshal form.
