This weekend brings game night with the SoberBuffs, a queer self-defense class, women's and men's hockey, a world premiere translation of Hecuba,extreme bowling, free night at Denver Art Museum and more.

Inclusive Rec: Queer Self-Defense

This course focuses on how to increase awareness of potential problems, de-escalate verbal harassment and to physically protect yourself if needed. Emphasis is placed on learning how to exit situations rather than engage in them. Join other LGBTQ+ people in a safe, inclusive environment during this session at the Center for Inclusion & Social Change, C4C N320, from 4:30 to5:15 p.m.

UMAS y MEXA and the Lambda Chapter of Sigma Lamba Beta International Fraternity are hosting a Day of the Dead celebration. All CU students and staff are welcome to come and remember loved ones who have passed on.There will be activities such as painting sugar skulls, a paper flower stationand a procession. Plus, there's food at this free event. Join 5–9 p.m. inUMC 235.

Visit UMC 247 at 6:15 p.m. for an evening of games, food and fun! Free pizza, refreshmentsand games will be provided, but feel free to bring snacks to shareand your favorite game,as well.

The CU women’s hockey team will be taking on the University of Denver at 7 p.m. at the ice rink in the Rec Center. Admission is free with a Buff OneCard.

Professor Tamara Meneghini directs a cast oftalented young performers in theUniversity Theatre. Tickets start at $20, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Show runs Nov. 2–11.

Years of violence and war have stripped Hecuba—queen of Troy—of all she holds dear. In this translation of Euripides’ bleakest drama, Hecuba grieves her first born son killed in combatand exacts revenge as her daughter is sacrificed to appease the gods and honor her son’s killer.

‘The Knowledge of Illusion’

Assistant Professor Philip Fernbach of theLeeds School of Business is hosting a free lecture discussing factors that influence our perception of knowledge. He will also cover where creativity stems from and how imaginative minds can come together. The event is free and open to the public, but there are only 200 seats available. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.at the Biotech Building'sButcher Auditorium.

Celebrate Denver Arts Week! Grab your friends and take the FF1 Bus down to Denver, which is free with your CU student bus pass, and take advantage of the free night at the and other great local exhibits. Free admission runs 5–10 p.m.

Extreme Bowling

Enjoy the fun of bowling with black lights, colored lane lights and color pins in The Connection starting at 7 p.m.It’s the only extreme bowling you’ll find in Boulder—and it’s fun for everyone!

The men’s hockey DIIteam will be facing off against UNC. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Rec Centerice rink.

As the largest student-run event on campus, all are welcome to attend this fun and free event. The GSA drag show will celebrate inclusion and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Expect to enjoy some fabulous fashion and come prepared to dance! Theshow starts at 8 p.m. in the Rec Center lower gym.


Sunday, Nov. 4

The mixed choir, consisting of 75 men and women, will be performing in Grusin Music Hall starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the community.
