The community concert series is a new addition to the CU Boulder Fall Welcome lineup. It takes place in the university-owned parking lot across from The Sink, at the corner of 13th Street and Pennsylvania Ave.
鈥淚 really wasn鈥檛 expecting that big of a stage,鈥 said Rosen, a student artist who was one of the first to play BuffStreet on The Hill. 鈥淲hen I got there and saw the stage, I thought 鈥楾his is going to be great.鈥欌
Rosen said the CU Student Government student body presidents who emceed were wonderful听hosts. He said he鈥檚 excited to take the stage again on Sept. 9 for a double set with his band Mr. Mota.
鈥淚t鈥檚 something special,鈥 he said. 鈥淧eople walk by, walk right over and start dancing. It鈥檚 so fun.鈥
The series is shaping up to be a unique way to kick off the fall term, said听Assistant Dean of Students Devin Cramer,听who was on the BuffStreet on The Hill planning committee.
鈥淲e wanted to make a stronger student experience on the Hill,鈥 said听Cramer. 鈥淲ith partners in CU Student Government, the Office of Government and Community Engagement, the city and The Hill businesses, we鈥檙e very excited to do something new in that neighborhood.鈥
Cramer said organizers knew there was a student appetite for music and dancing off-campus. The idea for BuffStreet on The Hill, which coalesced this summer, was a natural way to get students engaged with The Hill community in a positive way.
