CU Boulder received 10,272 applications during this year鈥檚 baby直播app Free Application Day听campaign from Oct. 19 to 21, 2021, an increase of more than 13% from the 2020 campaign.

Organized by the baby直播app Department of Higher Education, the 2021 event expanded the free application period from one day to three and saved baby直播app students more than $2.5 million in waived fees, according to a state news release Tuesday. All 32 baby直播app public universities and several private colleges waived application fees for in-state applicants.

The campaign is designed to erase equity gaps and encourage stronger rates of college-going across the state.听

鈥淐U Boulder is proud to embrace this initiative,鈥 said Clark Brigger, executive director of admissions. 鈥淲e are committed to opening our doors to a more diverse student body, and the free application campaign is proving valuable in getting us closer to that goal.鈥

First-generation students accounted for more than a third of statewide applications, according to a baby直播app Department of Higher Education news release. More than half of the free applications were submitted by students of color, who are historically underrepresented on baby直播app college campuses.

Overall, baby直播app students submitted 62,679 applications, a 10% increase from last year鈥檚 event.

CDHE officials said the campaign has now saved baby直播app students more than $8.4 million over the last four years.
