All are invited to the African Students Association鈥檚 annual Tour of Africa鈥�a celebration of the African diaspora with cultural foods, music and performances. Through these activities, the ASA hopes to share the vibrancy and diversity of African traditions firsthand.

What: Tour of Africa: Love on the Motherland

Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
This year鈥檚 theme, 鈥淟ove on the Motherland,鈥� incorporates simulated weddings to provide attendees with a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the different African cultures.听The 鈥渨eddings鈥� will feature couples from Ghana, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudan, Congo and Togo. The couples鈥� identities are kept secret and revealed at the event.听
鈥淚 have attended the Tour of Africa since my freshman year of high school, and there was nothing I looked forward to more than the annual performance,鈥� ASA President听Menna Tarekegne said.
鈥淭he performances stopped due to COVID-19. Reviving this event to be bigger and better has been a lot of hard work, but the Tour of Africa听magic is back. We are so proud of the work we鈥檝e done and grateful for the help from our performers, sponsors, vendors, and so many more!鈥�
The event is Saturday, April 13. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and food will start being served at 5听p.m. The event will begin at exactly 6听p.m. and go until听9 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center听Lower Courts. The event is free, but .听
Tour of Africa听is sponsored by CU student groups, including the African Students Association, Cultural Events Board and CU Student Government.
