On June 1, CU Boulder submitted its year-four assurance filing to the Higher Learning Commission, in accordance with the requirements of the .
This assurance filing demonstrates CU Boulder’s commitment to improvement within the accreditation process and shows how its continuous growth and improvement meet each of the for accreditation and associated core components. The assurance filing also includes updates on two areas of required monitoring from the 2020 accreditation review: to design and implement a common curriculum that defines the learning experience and intended learning outcomes for all CU Boulder undergraduates and to create a cross-campus plan for the assessment of student learning.
“Accreditation is not something that happens every 10 years and goes away,” said Katherine Eggert, senior vice chancellor for academic planning and assessment, who leads the accreditation team. “It’s an ongoing process that requires thought and dedication from a variety of people across the university. I want to thank everyone involved in this filing for their hard work and for their commitment to the process.”
The assurance filing will be reviewed by a team of trained evaluators from the Higher Learning Commission who may ask follow-up questions or request additional information. Following that, the university will receive a written evaluation and action. In 2025 CU Boulder will begin working on identifying a topic for the Quality Initiative Project.

With those lessons and successes guiding us, and with the leadership of a new incoming chancellor, we are taking advantage of this moment in the higher education landscape to transform together and revitalize our mission of educating students, creating new knowledge, and delivering value to the public we serve . . .”
