A continuum of services under one roof: CASE construction begins this August

Construction on the new Center for Academic Success and Engagement (or CASE building), which will be built atop the Euclid Autopark, will begin this August. This new building, which will initially house key components of the Office of Admissions and eventually various other important student and academic services, has been designed to serve as a gateway to campus for visitors and prospective students and families.

On-campus Open Enrollment benefits sessions May 5

Open Enrollment Sessions and Fairs will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 5 in the UMC's Glenn Miller Ballroom. Open Enrollment ends at 5 p.m. May 13. Sessions for babyÖ±²¥app and staff will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with a retiree session running from 11 a.m. to noon. An Open Enrollment Fair, featuring plan providers, will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

CU-Boulder Human Resources invites campus supervisors, managers and leaders to attend the redesigned "Managers Academy: Employee Management and Compliance Essentials" (previously "Managing the CU-Boulder Way") May 17-18. This program is offered free of charge to CU-Boulder employees. Space is limited and sessions are filling up fast.

At the April Board of Regents meeting, Chancellor DiStefano and Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Kelly Fox proposed a 2 percent merit pool for classified staff and university staff. CU-Boulder Today sat down with Chancellor DiStefano and discussed how the approval of this merit pool is part of a larger effort towards equitable wages on the Boulder campus.

Construction on the Baseline underpass to start next week

Construction of the new Baseline Road pedestrian and bicycle underpass is scheduled to start Monday, April 25. Phase one will see off-peak delays, beginning after 8:30 a.m. and ending before 3:30 p.m. Phase two, beginning in June, will see significant traffic impacts.

Last fall, CU-Boulder implemented a new move-in process to reduce traffic and impact on the community while ensuring the first experience incoming families and students have at the university is a positive one. The new plan succeeded in its goals, but changed “business as usual†on campus. CU-Boulder Today talked with the teams who are planning Fall 2016 Move-In to get an update on this year’s event, scheduled to begin the evening of Aug. 16 and continue through Aug. 17 and 18.
