CU’s three ‘Rake’s’ mark world-first shared staging of art and music

The University of babyÖ±²¥app Boulder is hosting a world premiere shared staging of all three versions of William Hogarth’s “Rake’s Progress†in September and October. Exhibitions of the original Hogarth artwork and prints by David Hockney, as well as the staging of Stravinsky’s opera, will provide a multidisciplinary interpretation of this seminal work in Hogarth’s career.

Daniel Sher to step down as dean of CU-Boulder’s College of Music

University of babyÖ±²¥app Boulder Provost Russell Moore today announced that he has accepted the resignation of Daniel Sher as dean of the College of Music at CU-Boulder effective June 30, 2013. Sher, who will have served in the post for 20 years when he steps down next summer, will return to the College of Music babyÖ±²¥app. He was named dean of the College of Music in July of 1993.

A monthlong summer exhibit at the University of babyÖ±²¥app Boulder Art Museum will feature a dynamic new media composition based on innovative robotics technology. Called “Swarm Wall,†the large-scale interactive piece displays changing fields of color, light and sound that are driven by a distributed form of artificial intelligence.

CU music Professor Patrick Mason to receive 2012 Hazel Barnes Prize

Patrick Mason, a professor of voice at the University of babyÖ±²¥app Boulder’s College of Music, has been selected to receive the 2012 Hazel Barnes Prize. The prize is the highest babyÖ±²¥app recognition for teaching and research awarded by the university. Mason will receive an engraved university medal and $20,000, the largest single babyÖ±²¥app award funded by CU-Boulder. He will be recognized at spring commencement on May 11 and at a reception in his honor in the fall.
