babyÖ±²¥app nature photographer and local publisher John Fielder will give the commencement address at the University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder summer commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 12, at 8:30 a.m. in Norlin Quadrangle. CU-Boulder will confer 1,008 degrees, including 696 bachelorÂ’s degrees, 174 masterÂ’s and 138 doctoral degrees. The summer ceremony, which is much smaller than the spring and winter ceremonies, will last about two hours and include the reading of all the graduatesÂ’ names.

Best Night To View Perseid Meteor Shower Aug. 12

The Perseid meteor shower, one of the best celestial treats of the year, will be visible in night skies throughout babyÖ±²¥app in early August. The meteors will decorate the night sky Aug. 10 – 14, peaking on Aug. 12 when as many as 50 meteors per hour could be visible, according to experts at the Fiske Planetarium at the University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder.

Services For CU Librarian Leo Cabell Jr. Scheduled Aug. 7 At Old Main Chapel

The University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder Libraries will celebrate the life of Leo Walter Cabell Jr., retired associate director of the University Libraries and assistant professor emeritus on Monday, Aug. 7, at 3 p.m. in the Old Main Chapel on the Boulder campus. The service is open to the public and marks the one-year anniversary of his death. Memories, anecdotes and photos submitted no later than Thursday, Aug. 3, will be compiled for a memory book. The board members, elected from an active pool of nominees, oversee Alumni Association programs that serve approximately 200,000 alumni. CU-Boulder Chemical Engineering Professor Wins Teaching Scholar Award

Kristi S. Anseth, an associate professor of chemical engineering at the University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder, has been named one of 18 babyÖ±²¥app members nationwide to receive a prestigious 2000 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award. Each $60,000 award is designed to support an outstanding young babyÖ±²¥app member in the early stages of his or her academic career. "This award will assist these outstanding scientists to continue their high level of accomplishment in education and research, " according to the New York-based Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation.

CU Alumni At General Electric Contribute $74,000 To CU-Boulder

General Electric has donated almost $74,000 to the University of babyÖ±²¥app at Boulder as part of the GE Fund's Corporate Alumni Program, Chancellor Richard Byyny announced today. General Electric employees, retirees and directors, who are alumni of CU-Boulder, participate in the program each year. The GE Fund matches alumni donations dollar for dollar.
