Canceled concrete canoe competition doesn’t dampen students’ enthusiasm

This year, 15 CU Boulder civil and architectural engineering students spent more than 60 hours constructing a concrete canoe. Despite the open water races being canceled due to cold temperatures, CU Boulder students did well in other ASCE competitions, taking second place in both the non-technical paper and innovation challenge and third place in both the technical paper and surveying competitions.

A team of astrophysicists, including two researchers from CU Boulder, have caught a glimpse of a new and rocky planet called LP 791-18d. There, temperatures on the dayside could climb to more than 250 degrees Fahrenheit, while volcanoes blast the planet's surface.

CU Heritage Center to temporarily close

Ahead of preservation efforts for Old Main, the CU Heritage Center, which is housed on the third floor of Old Main, will close on June 1 for the relocation of artifacts. The anticipated re-opening of the Heritage Center is slated for 2026, the university’s sesquicentennial year.
