Dear colleagues,
We are writing to let you know that the university is standardizing administrative leave during the holiday season, granting three and a half days to reward baby直播app and staff for your dedication to student success and to ensure all are able to devote attention to their families, friends and well-being without the need to use vacation leave.
Why we鈥檙e standardizing across campus
Standardizing administrative leave granted around scheduled holidays ahead of time provides structure and consistency to ensure all units can plan for vacation, other leave, deadlines and work in a timely manner. Establishing consistency across campus, rather than having individual units implement different practices, also creates an equitable experience for all staff and baby直播app. We ask that individual units do not grant their own administrative leave around the holidays beyond the campus-wide days.
How it will work听
- Nov. 22: Beginning at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22, baby直播app and staff will be granted a half day of administrative leave ahead of the campus holidays on Nov. 24 and 25.
- Dec. 27-29: During winter break week, Dec. 25-29, administrative leave will be granted for Dec. 27, 28 and 29鈥攖he three days that are not already campus holidays. Employees will not need to record personal vacation leave for these days, as previously communicated. If the governor should issue an additional governor鈥檚 holiday for this period, that will replace one of the administrative leave days.
- Recording time: Employees should record the time as 鈥淎dministrative Leave鈥 for both the November and December administrative leave periods.
- Campus status: During these administrative leave days, all academic and administrative offices will be closed, and most baby直播app and staff will be away from their work and classroom duties. Areas providing essential services will remain open, and leaders of these units will determine appropriate staffing levels to ensure continued operations and service.
- Alternate admin leave: We know that some of our employees may work in roles that require them to be on campus during holidays or administrative leave days. These employees and their supervisors should find alternate days (by June 30, 2024) on which our employees can use this leave based on the scheduling needs in their unit or department.
Thank you!听
The experience you provide for our students is transformational, and we are continuously grateful for all you do in service to our students, our state and humanity.
Sincerely,
Russell Moore, provost听
