UEP's Commitment to Social Justice and Equity

We first and foremost acknowledge that we at the University of baby直播app occupy the ancestral lands of a number of indigenous nations, including the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute peoples. We鈥檙e committed to understanding how this acknowledgement interweaves with our learning and understanding of ourselves, our identities, our positionalities, and our relationships.

We believe that we鈥檙e all connected, and that relationships matter. Yet, despite this connectedness, the world and our experiences are not equitable. Thus, in the spirit of inquiry and understanding, we鈥檙e committed to exploring our individual and collective social identities and the power and privilege associated with those standpoints. Because we understand that educational environments replicate the inequities of the societies in which they鈥檙e located, we鈥檙e committed to recruiting and supporting students who are historically underrepresented in learning communities labeled 鈥渉igh-achieving,鈥 as well as students who are historically underrepresented in higher education in general.  We promote education for action, so that we may all be part of the healing of historical and ongoing injustices, and to make our campus, home communities, and world a place where everyone feels welcome and can thrive. We pledge to not shy away from difficult conversations and to keep learning individually and collectively for the betterment of our campus and our world.
