Letters of Recommendation

We require two (2) letters of recommendation, uploaded by your letter authors to PostBacCAS. Please provide your letter authors with our Guidelines for Writing Compelling Letters of Recommendation.ÌıÌı

You may also find it helpful to read the advice in the Pre-Health Advising section on the topic of asking for letters of recommendation.ÌıÌı

Your letters must be written by individuals who have interacted with you in a supervisory role and who can comment upon your transferable skills as they've directly witnessed them, such as supervisors from long-term work/volunteer roles or college babyÖ±²¥app members who taught you in class or served as one of your research mentors.

We recommend one of each of the following types of letters:

  • One academic letter from a college-level babyÖ±²¥app member who taught you in class and/or supervised your work on a research project, who can attest to your intellectual curiosity and academic readiness for a rigorous, accelerated post-baccalaureate program. If you have been out of school for 3 or more years, it is appropriate to have both of your letters submitted by supervisors.

  • One supervisor letter from a job or long-term volunteer position you have held (or a long-time coach) who can attest to the personal strengths that will allow you to succeed in a cohort-based post-baccalaureate program, in professional school, and in your future clinical career. (Your supervisor(s) should be somebody who regularly oversees and coaches you on your work; it does not need to be the person to whom you directly report.)

We do NOT accept letters of recommendation written by friends, family members, TAs, guest lecturers, or co-workers.

All letters must be signed, dated, and submitted on official letterhead. We will let you know if any of your letters does not meet these formatting guidelines.
