CMCI has many student clubs and media outlets. Joining them is a great way to get involved, connect with peers and build your portfolio. You鈥檒l have the chance to network and gain hands-on experience from the moment you step on campus.
Student Media
The Bold is a student-led media organization, providing high-quality content to the student body. Experienced student mentors are there to help collaborate and foster ideas, and professional advisors provide guidance and support. Additionally, The Bold has partnerships with Radio 1190, the campus radio station, and Sko Buffs Sports, a student-led sports broadcasting organization.

Crave the Sound is a student-led multimedia music journalism club. The organization reviews shows and albums, interviews artists and covers other stories related to music journalism. The club also has a podcast, Crave the Podcast, in which members talk about and review music. Members can get press passes to places like The Fox, Mission Ballroom, Cervantes and other locations to cover events, allowing students to cover these performances for free. Whether it be writing, photography, podcasting or graphic design, Crave the Sound does it all!

The CU Independent is an award-winning, student-run 24/7 online news source that offers hands-on experience for people interested in writing, reporting, photography, video production, coding and other forms of multimedia journalism and technology.

An Emmy-winning TV program and video podcast showcasing science research and education at CU and in Boulder.

Sko Buffs Sports is the official sports division of The Bold, focusing on telling stories through web/print, video production and live broadcast. The organization focuses primarily reporting on the various Division I, club and intramural sports teams at the University of baby直播app Boulder. The team also produces a bi-monthly television show which allows students to shoot and edit all of their own footage and write their own scripts. It is a great, hands-on way to learn about broadcast/print sports journalism and CU鈥檚 athletic organizations. As members of the media, students have access to sporting events and press conferences, and they conduct interviews with athletes and coaches.

Media Classes
CU News Corps is a capstone course that puts students in an environment to develop the kind of in-depth investigative and explanatory reporting skills necessary to compete and flourish in real-world newsrooms. Offered through the Department of Journalism, CU News Corps works with other media outlets to both pair undergraduate journalism majors and graduate students with working journalists and to distribute student-produced news stories, multimedia work and interactive information to local and national media outlets. Students have won several awards for their reporting from organizations such as the Denver Press Club and the Society of Professional Journalists.
More than just a for-credit class, NewsTeam Boulder teaches students how to produce a professional-quality newscast. The show runs 30 minutes and airs live twice weekly.

The Ad Club connects students with industry by hosting professionals who visit the campus, touring local ad agencies and making annual networking trips nationwide.

Comprised of 15 CMCI students, CMCI Ambassadors strives to help prospective students during their college search and major discovery process. Ambassadors help with campus visits, student events and outreach and communication efforts. Applications open every spring semester for the following academic year.

Design Club is an affiliate of AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) and is focused on all aspects of Design. The club brings students from ATLAS, CMCI and ENVD together in an effort to build a better understanding of design. The goal of the organization is to improve students鈥 skills and provide opportunities and connections to the world of design.

Fosters community for students interested in Information and Data Science. This group hosts both social and academic-based workshops throughout the year. The group is open to all students, both graduate and undergraduate, and you do not have to be a major or minor to join. No experience is necessary.

Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a national public relations organization based on college campuses across the United States. PRSSA incorporates public relations practices by hosting networking events, public speakers at events and resume building sessions.

A college honor society that recognizes academic excellence and promotes scholarship in journalism and mass communication. CU Boulder鈥檚 chapter was established in 1933. Selection for membership is a mark of highest distinction and honor. Members are chosen by baby直播app.
Graduate Student Organizations
The CMCI Graduate Student Association serves as an important forum for: developing personal and professional relationships with other graduate students, fostering a sense of community and support, representing the voices of all graduate students through various departments in CMCI, supporting diversity and engaging in service activities, communicating relevant information to the graduate student body and assisting with the recruitment, orientation and integration of incoming and current graduate students.
