- Senior Emily Reno came to CMCI from Lake Oswego, Oregon, and found herself on her own for the first time. Luckily, during her years at CU Boulder and CMCI, she found a support system of great friends, roommates and professors who helped her make the most of her college years and encouraged her to finish strong. With a major in Strategic Communication focused on public relations and a minor in Business, Reno is the Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design’s William W. White Outstanding Senior.
- In the public relations world, the Bateman Case Study Competition is legendary. Renowned since its inception in the 70s, the year-long project tests students’ abilities to plan, produce and execute a full-scale public relations campaign. This academic year marks CU Boulder’s first foray into the competition––an accomplishment that happens to coincide with the program being named an A-list school by PR News. CU’s contenders are competing against 370 PRSSA affiliated chapters, all respected public relations departments across the country.Â
- The strategic communication student consistently demonstrates honor, integrity and accountability. She will be recognized on Feb. 23, 2021, during the marquee event of the Leo Hill Speaker Series.
- Short for fermentation, the small-scale bakery, Ferment, is a start-up enterprise that Andre Gruber, an engineering major, and Rafaelo Infante, a strategic communication major, launched in the spring while most of the state was shut down.

- Overseen by two CMCI sophomores, Crave the Sound is a collective of music journalists based at CU Boulder who connect audiences with new music through concert reviews, artist profiles and photo galleries.
