Each of the Research Sections is in the process of digitizing its collections with the goal of making these databases publicly accessible through the Museum's website and cross-institutional collaborative websites. Anthropology
Search the Anthropology and Archaeology collections and archives database online. Please note: The catalog information displayed here was created over the course of the past 100 years. The data is drawn from many sources and terminology used in the database reflects the time when the materials were cataloged and may be out of date by contemporary standards. The photos you are accessing may require image reproduction and use permissions. For all inquiries and requests, forms and contact information can be found on the Anthropology Policies & Procedures page.
This Arizona State Museum database contains analytical data and images compiled by Joe Ben Wheat for about twelve hundred textiles from over fifty museums and public collections, including the CU Museum of Natural History's Navajo textile collection.

Entomology
Approximately 100,000 specimen records from our Insect Collection are currently published through the and data portals. While this makes up only a fraction of our specimens, we are continuing to database and publish records on a regular basis.

The insects are listed alphabetically within order, family, and genus. Every effort is made to update nomenclature, however we suggest that when you are looking for a species, you also check for junior synonyms.
Paleontology
Fossil Invertebrate and Plant Collections
The Museum’s Fossil Invertebrate and Plant Collections are available for searching online through the Museum’s website.
The UCM Karl F. Hirsch Fossil Eggshell Collection is one of the largest and most diverse collections of its kind in the world. The holdings include turtle, crocodilian, avian, and non-avian dinosaur eggshells from over 35 countries, ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent. Hundreds of specimens of recent eggshell (>800) and psuedofossils (>100) are useful for comparative purposes. The collection contains considerable auxiliary data comprised of thousands of scanning electron micrographs, thin sections, 35mm negatives, data pages, and documentation of chemical analyses of numerous samples. The UCM Martin G. Lockley Fossil Track Collection contains about 3,000 cataloged vertebrate and invertebrate tracks, trackways, and trails and 1,600 tracings. The collection has considerable temporal, taxonomic, and geographic breadth, with an emphasis on dinosaur tracks from the Rocky Mountain Region. The UCM Fossil Vertebrate Collection contains nearly a hundred thousand cataloged fossil vertebrate specimens. This collection is the culmination of over 100 years of collecting from around the world and contains fossils that range in age from the Devonian through the Quaternary Periods. Its strengths are in Cretaceous marine vertebrates and Late Mesozoic-Cenozoic fossils mammals from the Rocky Mountain Region. Most of the paleontology collection records are available online through . Invertebrate Zoology
The Invertebrate Zoology division is currently migrating collection records to a new relational database. When this is complete all records will be available online.
