EMP Faculty Positions (Part-time/Temporary)

Each semester the Engineering Management Program (EMP) seeks Lecturers to teach a variety of courses to engineers and technical professionals in the areas of engineering management, leadership and business.  These teaching roles are filled on an as-needed basis semester to semester.

The title of Lecturer is given to individuals who teach on a course-by-course basis. Lecturers are hired to teach a particular course or courses for which they are qualified. Instructors will have at least a graduate degree and significant experience in their profession or field of expertise.

Compensation ranges from $1,040 - $11,140 per course, depending on the teaching assignment, instructor qualifications, and what semester the course is being taught.

Examples of graduate and undergraduate subjects that lecturers teach for the EMP include:

  • Engineering Economics, Finance
  • Systems Engineering
  • Project and Program Management
  • Technology Ventures and Marketing
  • Entrepreneurship & Innovation
  • Strategy, Data, and Decision Analysis
  • Engineering & Technical Communications
  • Engineering Leadership

Minimum Requirements:
  - MBA, MS or ME in engineering disciplines, or equivalent.
  - Significant management experience in business and/or industry.


Preferred Qualifications:
  -A terminal degree (Ph.D. or the equivalent) in a field of study related to engineering and/or management.
  -Experience teaching in a distance education environment (remote/synchronous and online/asynchronous).
  -Experience in a graduate and undergraduate-level Engineering Management or an MBA program and undergraduate business education.
  -A record of professional success both as a practicing technical professional and as a manager and leader in technology endeavors.

Consideration Dates

EMP Student Positions

Each semester EMP seeks student employees in the areas of baby直播app support or program administration. These student hourly roles are filled on an as-needed basis each semester.  We offer the following positions:

Student Graders/Assistants

Assist baby直播app members in their course with responsibilities such as:

  • Grading
  • Responding to student questions and inquiries about course content and materials
  • Assisting the instructor with course content management and organization on Canvas
  • Researching data and materials for the course

Pay range: $16 - $20 per hour

  • New employees assisting with an undergraduate course start at $16/hour.
    • Starting rate may be higher if the student has unique skills, qualifications and/or experience.
    • Pay rate may increase after the first semester, depending on the student鈥檚 performance and length of employment.
  • New employees assisting with a graduate course start at $17/hour.
    • Starting rate may be higher if the student has unique skills, qualifications and/or experience.
    • Pay rate may increase after the first semester, depending on the student鈥檚 performance and length of employment.

Student Program Administrators

Assist various units within the Program with administrative work such as:

  • Assisting frontline operations
    • Answering phone calls and e-mails from students, staff, baby直播app and other customers
    • Working on projects such as data collection, enrollment tallies, admissions numbers tracking, etc.
    • Mailing services
    • Data entry, filing, updating records, etc.
    • Supporting baby直播app and staff with business needs (ordering materials, office and class supplies; printing; calling vendors for maintenance of office equipment, etc.)
  • Assisting the marketing department
    • Performing market research and analysis
    • Developing, maintaining and managing marketing surveys
    • Creating simple marketing literature, flyers and brochures
    • Posting organic social media content, report on metrics
    • Performing program information audits across campus websites and manage updates with multiple campus groups
    • Scheduling, planning and coordinating classroom photoshoots

Pay range: $16 - $18 per hour

  • Starting pay rate depends on student鈥檚 skills, qualifications and experience in the respective area.
  • Pay rate may increase after the first semester is possible dependent upon the student鈥檚 performance and length of employment.

Student hourly positions are not permanent employees and hired on a semester-by-semester basis. This position is eligible for employee sick leave earned monthly on a prorated basis. The Engineering Management Program does not provide internships, Research Assistantship (RAs) or Teaching Assistantships (TAs).
