Horses are not just an animal, but a way of life across much of the Rocky Mountains, Great Plains, and American Southwest. Join Mr. Christopher Chavez, as he shares his wisdom and perspective on history, heritage, and the relationship between horses and Native Peoples.

Mr. Christopher Chavez is a researcher, tribal historian, and Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Pueblo of Kewa/Santo Domingo in the Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico. In addition to a lifetime of experience with horses, he holds a Baccalaureate and Master's degree in American Studies from the University of New Mexico. Mr. Chavez's research explores issues of cultural heritage and language preservation in the Pueblo community.

George Mason University is organizing a virtual symposium as part of the kick-off of a new thematic initiative to enhance diverse multidisciplinary research in computing, society, and healthcare, aligned with GMU’s new School of Computing. The symposium will feature keynote talks, moderated panels, and lightning talk sessions. Check out “Computational Systems Biomedicine” on September 21. The conference is open to students, babyֱ��app, and the general public.

We will also be putting together “lightning talk” sessions on each of the two themes. Participants are encouraged to submit a short abstract on the registration page describing their research area for consideration for inclusion in one of these sessions.

Are you a first- or second-year student interested in studying abroad? Apply now to become a GO Scholar!

The Global Opportunity (GO) Scholar Program works with first-year students from diverse backgrounds with financial need and encourages them to go abroad by reducing financial barriers and providing support through a designated coordinator and a student cohort.

GO Scholars receive a planning scholarship to help cover the cost of a CU Boulder-approved education abroad program offered by Education Abroad. This a one-time scholarship, and GO Scholars have four years to use the scholarship. 

GO Scholars may be eligible for additional Education Abroad funding opportunities. Additionally, GO Scholars receive individualized mentoring and support they explore all international opportunities.

The student application for the STEM Routes Undergraduate Research Training & Opportunity Program is open from Wednesday, September 1st until Friday, September 24th at 5 p.m.

"We designed this program to provide training and support for students who have never had a research experience and have had to overcome significant adversity while earning their undergraduate degree."

Our mission is to empower underrepresented minorities in STEM by offering them opportunities to engage in research and coupling that with the professional development offered by the greater STEM Routes program, which includes educational workshops surrounding applications to graduate school as well as graduate-student mentorship and guidance. Uplift research positions are awarded to students who are traditionally underrepresented, low-income, or first-generation. STEM Routes Uplift has no annual or semesterly deadlines; students may apply and begin research upon being accepted by a babyֱ��app advisor and babyֱ��app may submit projects at any time provided that full funding for the position is available. We also encourage students in our program to apply for established funded undergraduate research opportunities such as UROP, BSI, and DLA, and our mentors will assist them in preparing those applications.

Right now, this doc is a little slow, but in October, it really starts heating up, so get ready! Most Research Experiences for Undergraduates pay YOU to do menaingful research over the summer, meet cool professors, and get started on a path that has many many lucrative and interesting opportunities.
